Due to its privileged climate, with mild temperatures throughout the year, as well as being situated at the foot of a fertile Tropical Valley which is surrounded by the Sierras de Granada and overlooking the Mediterranean, Almuñecar one of the most visited destinations in the Andalusian coast, has been a much sought after place by numerous people throughout history.

Venta Luciano
Enjoy an exquisite barbecue, lunch or dinner with selectively design with local products. Only place in town to enjoy the performance of the flamenco group "Aires del Sacromonte".
El Balcon de Cotobro
The owner is a lovely person and she offers a rich and tasty menu right next to the beach. It is not cheap but they have a menu for 15€ (no drinks included) that we highly recommend.
Los Geraneos
Also a very well known restaurant in town with more than 15 yrs, weekly menus (15€ no drinks included) Mediterranean Food is their specialty and offers fantastic customer service.
WHAT TO SEE
Monuments and Buildings of Historical Interest
Places to visit: Botanical Sculpture Park El Majuelo, Monumento to the Phoenicians, Necropolis noy Bridge, Roman Aqueduct, Roman Columbarium, Roman Bridge in Cotobro, Statue of Abderramán I, (this sculpture commemorates the coming ashore of this Omeyan Prince from Damasco to the coasts of almuñecar in the year 755, before establishing the Independent Emirate in Córdoba), El Peñón del Santo, Natural Monument , 19th Century Palacete de la Najarra (Tourism Office). It will be nice to visit the “Calle Real” , in the old part of Almuñecar, full of littles shops where you can buy whatever you need and souvenirs.
San Miguel Castle
Setting of from this strategically placed fort which was used by diverse civilization, it is very easy to get lost in the traditional, cobbled streets full of small squares, in wich the remains of the Roma-pinic fish salting factory from the 4th century B.C.can be found.
Cave of Seven Palaces
Close to the Castle you can visit “Cave of Seven Palaces” being a prime example, which is made up of domes that now house the town´s Archaecological museum.
The Fish Salting Factory
It is situated next to the best side of San Miguel Cerro is El Majuelo fish salting factory. It is from the Phoenician-Punic period where this industry continued flourishing until the beginning of the 4th century A.D. This industry contributed enormously to the economic in Almuñecar.

Diving Flight

Dive for a flight of more than 1 hour in the exceptional site of Maro Cerro-Gordo, declared as SPAMI (Specially Protected Area of Mediterranean Importance) by the United Nations. Antonio´s farm
Visiting Antonio´s farm in Almuñecar is something new and very interesting, Antonio is a farmer from Almuñecar who loves his land and the surroundings of the Costa Tropical (Tropical Coast). In the visit to his farm you can taste the tropical fruits that he cultivated, avocados, mangos, custard apples etc.. in this area very characteristic and you can enjoy a unique experience.
BEACHES
Almuñecar has a total of 19kms of coastline. It has beaches for all tastes and all sectors of the public. The closer beach to Villa Torre Loma, is Velilla Playa, and you can see the beach from garden of the house, it is just 5 minutes by car. Then you have San Cristóbal Beach very close to the center village. Cotobro Beach, also it is a nice beach but you will need the car because it is in the other side of the village 5 or 6 km, and closer to Cotobro beach you also have “Playa del Muerto”, it is a nudist beach.
